Buying and Selling property is a complicated and time consuming process. It requires the involvement of numerous parties and requires the consideration of complex land laws. We have set out below our 10 top tips to assist you to get to grips with the process as quickly as possible.
- Read all communications carefully and contact us if you are not clear.
- Provide all requested information as quickly and as fully as possible – DO NOT LEAVE BLANKS. Verify the information you have provided with documents/certificates/invoices/receipts if possible.
- Pay monies on account as soon as possible. This will prevent delays in obtaining documents/searches etc.
- Provide full names and address – The provision of accurate and correct information will save the need for amendments at a later stage.
- Provide I.D. documents as soon as possible.
- Do not agree to anything until you have discussed with your solicitor.
- If you are purchasing, get your own reports/inspections carried out. Try not to rely on Sellers.
- Use your Estate Agent. Try to be pro-active rather than re-active. They want their sales commission as soon as possible and will appreciate being involved/included.
- Do not send any money to us until you are requested by us to do so. Receiving unsolicited money creates potential Money Laundering problems.
- If you are selling, leave the property in a clean and tidy condition. The biggest complaints following moving dates relates to buyers having to ‘clean up.’
