Lachlan is a Partner and Solicitor with Gill Turner Tucker who specialises in family law.
He qualified as a Solicitor in 2009 and has a vast amount of experience advising clients who are going through the unfortunate process of separating from their partner, which includes helping to resolve both child and financial arrangements. Some examples of his experience are set out below:

  • He has acted for a client in financial proceedings following divorce, which involved a property portfolio of over 20 properties (with other parties intervening in the court proceedings) and successfully helped the client achieve a good outcome.
  • He has acted for hundreds of clients in divorce and financial proceedings who have an interest in various businesses (which includes LLPs, traditional partnerships and Ltd companies) and has an acute knowledge of how businesses should be dealt with on divorce.
  • He has acted for expats living in the Middle East and in other countries, and on each occasion has successfully secured the England and Welsh jurisdiction (power of the court) for the client to secure injunctive relief, child arrangement and financial orders in the English Courts.
  • He regularly acts for clients with significant defined benefit pension schemes and advises on how best to reach an agreement, often with the benefit of specialist expert evidence from an actuary, or other relevant expert.
He has acted for clients in respect of cases involving the relocation of children in England and Wales and the relocation of children internationally.
  • He is very experienced in advising clients in connection with pre-nuptial and post-nuptial agreements having prepared and advised on many agreements over the years.

He has also been awarded special accreditation by Resolution (formerly known as the Solicitors Family Law Association (SFLA)), for cases involving complex financial matters following divorce and pensions which involved a rigorous examination of his experience and knowledge.
As of July 2022, he is one of only two solicitors within a twenty-mile radius of Maidstone to have achieved specialist status in cases involving the treatment of pensions on divorce and has also been appointed as a Pensions Assessor for Resolution under the specialist accreditation scheme.
Lachlan has also trained as a collaborative lawyer with Resolution. This means he can offer clients the collaborative process, which involves both parties attending meetings with their respective lawyers to reach an agreement. He is a strong advocate of using the collaborative process, which has a high success rate, and where both parties and their respective collaborative lawyers work together to help reach a complete agreement.
If court proceedings are unfortunately necessary, he is a determined practitioner who will use his skills and knowledge to achieve the best possible outcome for each client.
Outside of work (when time affords) Lachlan is an avid golf player and a general sports enthusiast
